About

RACHEL KELLY
Writer, Journalist & Mental Health Campaigner

WHAT I DO
I divide my time between writing books and running workshops on how to flourish and what I've learnt about good mental health. I run my workshops in prisons, for mental health charities, on behalf of companies and in bookshops. I also campaign to reduce stigma around mental illness, and work alongside charities including SANE, Mind and Depression Alliance. I contribute regularly to newspapers including The Times and The Daily Telegraph on mental health and am an experienced public speaker.

WHO I AM
I'm a former Times journalist who has published three books: the first a poetry anthology for children, the second a memoir about my experience of debilitating depression, and the third a guide to 52 strategies to stay well and calm. I'm also a married mother of five, a graduate of Oxford University and an Ambassador for SANE.

I CAN ASSIST AN AUDIENCE BY
-Sharing my personal experience
-Making people feel less alone and more able to be open about their experience, thus reducing stigma
-Sharing do-able, practical, science-based strategies on how to stay well and calm and happy
-Sharing what really works thanks to my experience leading workshops for those who suffer anxiety and depression
